This workshop offers simulation training of ultrasound- guided pAVF with a theoretical background. The course is accredited by the Swiss Society of Vascular Surgery with 8 CME.
Description
Ultrasound-guided percutaneous arteriovenous fistulae (pAVF) offer a complementary vascular access option. The technique to create pAVF demands excellent ultrasound skills. Patient selection is key to the technical and functional success of pAVF.
This workshop offers theoretical background on all aspects of pAVF, such as preoperative planning, step-by-step pAVF creation and critical points of pAVF implementation into a vascular access service. Participants will be able to simulate two pAVF creations on the Vascular International pAVF model.

Course Programme:
– pAVF planning and patient selection
– Ultrasound vessel screening upper extremities
– pAVF step- by- step instruction
– pAVF simulation training
– Tips and tricks
– What to consider to successfully implement pAVF
